The Express Entry permanent resident candidates are selected through a CRS draw. Candidates have their eyes fixed on the CRS score cut off and Express Entry’s latest draw to gain insights about CRS scoring and their eligibility.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points determine a candidate’s ability to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from the Canadian Government. Currently, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the Canadian Government is not processing or rejecting any application submitted for the Express Entry draw. Understandably so, immigration services and processes all over the world have come to a halt.
How The CRS Draw System Works?
Applicants who effectively meet all the eligibility criteria are added to a pool of potential candidates to be ranked based on the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This point-based system is deployed to identify potential immigrants with a higher probability to enjoy financial success in Canada.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts regular Express Entry draws to select the top-ranking candidates from the pool. These candidates are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residency.
The eligibility to Express Entry varies for each of the three programs, for instance, the Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) program requires candidates with a minimum of 67 CRS score.
Express Entry: Next Draw Date
It is increasingly difficult to predict the Express Entry next draw date. Considering the data accumulated since the Express Entry was first introduced in 2015, CRS draws have been held on a clear pattern of Wednesdays after every two weeks.
Given this pattern, the draw is expected to be held sometime next month. However, it is important to note that the IRCC authorities have deviated from this pattern. Many Express Entry draws took place on Mondays and Tuesdays, and in certain cases, they were conducted after one or three weeks instead of the two-week pattern.
Stay tuned for further updates on the next Express Entry draw date.
Express Entry: Latest Draw
If you are wondering about the latest CRS draw which was held on February 13, 2021, and other factors associated with it, here is everything you need to know:
The 176th Express Entry draw to determine permanent residence candidates took place on 13th February 2021, and it was conducted as an all-program draw.
It established the CRS points requirement for receiving an ITA, and the CRS score cut off appears to have decreased as compared to the previous all-program Express Entry draw conducted on 18th November 2020.
The CRS score of the lowest ranking candidate given an ITA was 75. In the latest CRS draw, the total number of ITAs issued to applicants amounts to 27,986 Much like the previous CRS draw, the authorities relied on a tie-break rule to determine the applications. Since a wide majority of the candidates had the same 75 CRS score cut off, the authorities decided to issue an ITA to only those candidates who created their profiles before 15th October, at 08:50:10 UTC.
